The Filmmakers

Nandan Saxena & Kavita Bahl are a team of independent filmmakers whose work covers themes like socio-political issues, development, environment and poetry.

Nandan Saxena

Nandan is a  director and cinematographer. A post-graduate in English Literature, he worked as a  television journalist till 1996 (which Nandan calls his previous life). His work experience as a journalist includes news, current affairs and election analysis. His involvement in theatre, debates and student politics during his student years laid the base for his film-making.

He has a passion for audio-visual equipment, vocals and photography. His photographs have been published in magazines like Outlook Traveller, My Mobile, and, the website of Yamuna Action Plan.

Kavita Bahl

Kavita is a director, script-writer and Trustee of Sadho, a not-for-profit organisation whose aim is to take ‘poetry to people’.

A post-graduate in English Literature, she worked as a  Correspondent with the national daily Indian Express till 1996 before turning a new leaf.

In 1996, Top Quark Films was born and so was her career in film-making. An ‘editorial’ person, she likes to reach out to people and understand their pov (point of view ). She plans to take good films to children and young adults through film festivals and lecture-series.
